The Remarkables are a band from Austin, Texas, and began when neighbors Joe and John began jamming together in 2017. They worked out some songs, playing with a drum machine until Mike, who previoiusly played with Joe in Doctors of Rock, offered to jump in with his cajon, forming the Band With No Name. They played coffeehouse gigs until the pandemic intervened, and the band retreated to the garage. Around that time, Ryan, who had also played guitar in Doctors of Rock, returned to Austin, and joined the band -- he and John trade off on bass guitar. During a pandemic rehearsal outside in Joe's yard, Cicadians were born, and not long after, Al -- another Doctors of Rock veteran, joined on keyboards, and the band became the Remarkables, who play an eclectic mix of classic, folk, and country rock, blues, R&B, and pop, spanning the last 75 years of great music – many songs that you know, some that you might not.
